I think this may be the best dulcimer book I have ever purchased. I also can not believe the low price for this book for all that is in it. I enjoy playing with others, including my guitar playing husband, and am always on the lookout for multipart arrangements. Here are all the things I love about this book. There are 21 tunes, the arrangements have interesting parts for both players, there are several arrangements that are fully developed and multipage ie not just a 12 bar main melody arrangement, the arrangements are written for fingerpickers but the main notes are emphasized so you can play only those if you are a newer player, standard notation and chords are included. The accompanying CD contains tef (Tabledit) files. Those using that program know how useful that is. If you don’t use Tabledit, the CD also has the tunes in Midi and MP3 format. Listen to the ones that work for you. You can hear the parts solo or together – your choice. Really nice work, really nice book!

I LOVE this book and CD! I had played a couple of the duets with my dulcimer friend, and hadn’t checked out what I thought was a regular CD that came with it. When I finally did check it out I discovered that it’s a CD for use on your computer and that the duets were all on there in tef files as well as audio files. So – that means that with my TablEdit program I can play the duets on my computer at whatever speed I want. Wonderful for practice. Start slow, work it out, speed it up a little, get good at that speed and pretty soon you’re up to tempo. It’s very motivating – and fun! Aside from that, the arrangements are great, and it’s a nice selection of music. Enough all ready! I’m getting out my dulcimer. Going to play duets with my computer!
